Sheet Pile Retaining Walls
RJS Piling are specialists in the use of steel sheet piles which form a temporary / permanent sheet pile retaining wall.
Steel sheet piles are installed as the permanent retaining structure on schemes where insufficient space is available for complex temporary works, which would otherwise be required.
How To Create A Piled Retaining Wall?
Once installed, sheet piles have an immediate and structural capacity, allowing excavation to commence immediately and generating no spoil – as is the case with alternative secant and contiguous pile walls.
The Piled retaining walls are installed with a Movax SG75, known as piling.
The steel sheet piles create a deep foundation which allows the retention of the land at two different levels on either side.
The Piled Retaining Walls allow excavation to the required designed depths.
Piled retaining walls can be temporary, sacrificial and permanent.
Retaining Wall Specialists
A watertight retaining wall structure has a design life of up to 120 years.
Common applications for sheet pile retaining walls
Common applications include retail and commercial service yards, flood defence walls and coastal barriers, railway and highway embankments, plus axially loaded foundations and virtually anywhere a general barrier/retaining wall is required.
Once our sheet pile retaining walls are installed, excavation works can commence immediately, negating the need for any curing period that is normally required for alternative secant and contiguous pile walls.
